Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

PsychoSocial1
What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. It’s a space for you to share your story and what brought you to seek support. My role is to listen without judgment, understand your concerns, and answer any questions you may have. We will discuss your goals for our work together and create a plan that feels right for you. There is no pressure; the goal is simply to start a conversation.

Is everything we discuss kept confidential?

Yes, your privacy is a top priority. As a registered social worker, I adhere to a strict code of ethics that requires all sessions to be completely confidential. The only exceptions are specific, legally mandated circumstances, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, which we will discuss in more detail during our first meeting.

How long are sessions and how many will I need?

Each session typically lasts for 50 minutes. The number of sessions you may need depends on your individual goals and circumstances. Some clients find that a few sessions are enough to address a specific issue, while others prefer ongoing support over a longer period. We will regularly review your progress and adjust our plan to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
